How Meshtastic Works: Meshtastic utilizes LoRa, a long-range radio protocol that is widely accessible in most regions without the need for additional licenses or certifications. This distinguishes it from HAM radio operations. The radios used in Meshtastic are designed to rebroadcast received messages, creating a mesh network. This network ensures that messages can reach every group member, even those located at the furthest distances. Depending on the settings, the Meshtastic mesh network can support up to 100 devices simultaneously. Furthermore, Meshtastic radios can be paired with a single phone, enabling friends and family to send messages directly to your specific radio. It’s important to note that each Meshtastic device can only support a connection from one user at a time.
